1st Time Campers

Over Memorial Day Weekend we had our first camping trip.  Okay, you may not want to call it a camping "trip" since it was just for one night and it was only about 25 minutes away from home (Hillsdale Lake).  It was in a tent at a real camping site with our very own campfire though.  Our family ventured out with our good friends the Bates who have three girls who Ava and Reese love to spend time with.  We waited to tell the girls about camping until about 24 hours before the excitement and let me tell you, it was the longest 24 hours ever.  Think of any question a five year-old may pose about a first time camping trip and we heard it.  "Are we sleeping in a tent?"  "Do you and daddy have sleeping bags?"  "Will there be sharks in the lake?"  Zack and I were just thankful to actually be driving out to the lake when the next day finally arrived!

While it was a late night and an early morning, it was a wonderful time!  S'mores...Go Fish around the picnic table..pancakes, eggs, and bacon for breakfast...and of course playing at the "beach".
