A New Milestone

Well, yesterday was a big day for Ava.  She lost her first tooth!  It had been getting more and more wiggly and she would not leave it alone.  The bottom teeth are pretty crowded so I think over time it was just getting pushed out.  Anyway, after wiggling it and wiggling it the last few days she finally asked me to pulled it last night before bed.  I wasn't going to pull too hard but if it came loose with a little tug so be it.  And that's exactly what happened.  She was very excited and couldn't wait to see what the tooth fairy would leave her.  The tooth fairy doesn't usually have much cash and the smallest she had was a $5 bill so that's what Ava woke up to this morning.  Needless to say Ava came rushing into our room at 6:30am to inform us of this.

Reese was pretty excited for her sister rather than jealous.  I think it helped that we were talking about how big she was getting yesterday too because she learned how to officially skip correctly and I told her she was getting big because she was using "finger spaces" between her words when she was writing.  She was pretty proud of herself.  It's the little things!

There are those days like yesterday where it just hits you that your kiddos are getting big.  We also had kindergarten round-up on Thursday which didn't help.  It's a good reminder to cherish every moment with them, even when I go round and round with them like I did with Reese this afternoon before nap.  As if she was going to win.  The three opportunities she had to lay quietly in her bed wasn't enough, a spanking wasn't enough, and timeout in the bathroom with the door closed wasn't enough.  Sometimes they just don't get it.  However, I think she is currently asleep on the bathroom floor because after 45 minutes of screaming and yelling I haven't heard a peep in the last 20 minutes!  Please pray for my patience!
