I can't believe it's already July! I have been extremely thankful for a summer of minimal work and lots of time with family. Kansas City is a great place for doing things with kiddos. We are trying our best to pack in as much as possible without overdoing it. Things we can check off the list are: swimming, picnics, VBS, meeting friends at parks, Storybook exhibit at Crown Center, Kaleidoscope, strawberry picking, storytime in the park, free movie series at Legends Movie Theater, and more.
So far in July we have visited Deanna Rose Farmstead, chowed down on homemade ice cream and did sparklers at a 4th of July get-together, participated in our neighborhood 4th of July bike parade and party, watched fireworks, and played in the rain. Our goal is to continue enjoying every minute of summer!

The Lake
Last weekend we went to Holiday Lake in Iowa to spend time with family at Larry and Grammy's lake house. Auntie Amber, Uncle Chad, Bubba, and Bubba's friend Nick met us there too. We had a great time doing all the staple activities for a lake weekend...boating, swimming, building sandcastles, playing at the park, golf cart rides around the lake looking for deer, and making s'mores! We finished the weekend with an Iowa Cubs game in Des Moines rooting on our minor league Cubbies. It was a fantastic weekend spending it with family. PeePaw's (my dad's) birthday would have been on Saturday so we were thankful to be together thinking of him.
