Tonight we had a "pseudo" Halloween since Zack and I will be at a NICU conference in Chicago next weekend. Grammy and Larry will get to spend the real Halloween with the girls. In order to feel like we didn't completely miss out on Halloween, we went to Deanna Rose Farmstead this evening for an event they have every year. The girls got to dress up, get candy, go on a hayride, roast marshmallows, and of course see some of the farmstead animals. We went with some friends of ours (Griffin and his daddy Adam). Everyone had a great time!
This year the girls are the sun and the moon. I will try to take advantage of coordinating costumes for as long as the girls allow. It has been fun over the last few years!

Time with Wonderful Friends
This past weekend we were able to spend some time with one of my college roommates Heidi and her husband Steve in Des Moines. They live in Minneapolis so we decided to meet halfway. Heidi isn't just a past college roommate but a wonderful friend. I value her friendship so much and every time we are together it feels like we've never been apart. We had a great time in the hotel swimming, letting the girls entertain us, and hanging out, in addition to eating out and making a trip to a park for a walk and for the girls to play on Sunday. The beautiful fall weather was a fantastic bonus!
Ava and Reese thought it was hilarious that they could both fit in Steve's vest! |
Needless to say, the ride back to KC on Sunday was a quiet one! |

Cosmic Jump
Nana and Pappy were visiting for the weekend and the weather wasn't the best. So, we decided to check out Cosmic Jump. Ava and Reese had a blast running, jumping, and sliding. I think the spectators had just as much fun watching them!

Fall!
Well it has certainly felt like fall around here the last few days. We ventured out to the Louisburg Cider Mill today with our friends the Ahrings. Cider donuts, pumpkins, bounce houses, and pony rides were all included!!!
